This is a journey that started my love for quantum information science and inspired me to explore it at all time. Because of the inspiring professors and beautiful town scenery, Oxford has become an ideal place for me to live in.

St Aldate's, Oxford — St Aldate's, July 1st When I first arrived at Oxford, I was shocked by its stunning beauty. Just a small shop was carefully decorated to be filled with vitality and elegance. The morning sun is very soft, scattering its shine on the tiny but colorful flowers, making them more delicate and charming. Although I was walking hurriedly on the way to class, these flowers attracted my attention and stopped me immediately. There are always something good waiting for you to uncover in the street, and all you need is to pass by. This may be the reason why people in Oxford love running and cycling.

G and D Ice Cream — G & D Ice Cream, July 12th In the evening, British people like going to a pub, having a drink with a few friends and talking about their lives and careers. Whether it's cocktails, beer, wine, or just ice cream, it can make friends chatting for a long time. This is different from the habit of young people in my country. We always like to find something to do together instead of chatting with just a drink. By the way, I have tasted several kinds of the cocktails and ice cream, and they were delicious.

High Street, July 1st The ancient buildings have been well preserved throughout the whole town, witnessing the ups and downs for hundreds of years. Surprisingly, the facilities inside them are very complete and modern. The town gives consideration to both the preservation of history and the convenience and comfort of life.

Culture and Science

An emblem — An Emblem, July 2nd There are at least 20 colleges in Oxford (We counted the marks on the door of the library), most of which have long histories. Our college, Hertford, is about 800 years old. The emblem is like the heart and soul of the college, representing its glory history. unlike many domestic universities, Oxford colleges are not divided by subjects, which promotes the communication between different people and the connection of subjects.

Water-lilies by Monet — Water-lilies, Monet On July 5th, our group took a bus to London, just for two destinations, the National Gallery and the British Museum. I was deeply impressed by the paintings in the National Gallery, especially the impressionists' paintings. When you enter the world of romanticism and impressionism, you can't help but admire the creativity of artists. Painting is no longer simply a record of reality, but a transformation of reality, human's understanding of the world. Monet is famous for his mastery on colors and shapes. Among the museum's collections, I like this picture of water lilies in the setting sun best. These interwoven colors: the pale cyan the water lilies, the cherry blossom pink glow, the aero blue sky, the loden shadows of the trees, are very rich and profound in artistic conception, making the incredible scene vivid on the canvas.

Emirates Stadium, July 5th The U.K. has a strong atmosphere of football and I really enjoy watching Arsenal's game. In my trip to London, I visit its home field, Emirates Stadium. More pictures are not available right now.

Clarendon Laboratory, July 3rd Professor Vlatko Vedral introduced Rabi Oscillation to us. His two-week lecture really inspired me to continue my academic career in Quantum Computation.
